About EISB

EISB is a Labor Management Cooperation Committee (LMCC) established under the Labor-Management Cooperation Act of 1978 and a non-profit California "membership" corporation exempt from both federal and California taxes. EISB is funded in accordance with the Inside Wire Agreement between IBEW Local 6 and the San Francisco Electrical Contractors Association (SFECA), Inc. The corporation is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Local Union and the Association. There are two voting director appointees from each of the respective parties representing the member-trust funds listed below.

  1. Northern California Electrical Workers Pension Trust
  2. San Francisco Electrical Workers Health & Welfare Trust
  3. San Francisco Electrical Industry Apprenticeship and Training Trust

In addition, there are two non-voting directors consisting of the corporation's chief administrative officer and the Director of Apprenticeship.

EISB has two functions: 1) Contract Administrator. EISB performs the daily administration of the various EISB corporation members listed above and, 2) Industry Promotion. As an LMCC, EISB oversees programs and activities that promote cooperation between the parties and enhance the competitiveness of the Unionized sector of the San Francisco electrical industry.
