Employer Contributions are made by your employer for each hour you work in covered employment based on rates set forth in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Elective Deferral (401k) Contributions may be made by non-apprentice employees at hourly rates set forth in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, if the employee exercises his right to do so by executing a Salary Reduction Form during the open enrollment period.
Note: Contributions are payable on actual hours performed.

Effective January 1, 2015, with the exception of first year (40%) apprentices, all employees working under the IBEW Local 6/SFECA Inside Wire and Material Handler's agreements may elect to defer a portion of their wages in $1.00 increments up to a maximum of $8.00 per hour to the Retirement Savings Plan. Contributions are subject to the annual limits permitted by the IRS which, in 2015 and 2016, is $18,000 with an additional $6,000 in "catch up" contributions if an employee is age 50 or older.
A Salary Reduction Form for electing or changing the 401k contribution that is to be deducted from your wage occurs during an open enrollment period ending December 8th of each year, with the change taking effect on the following January 1st. Your elective deferral rate will remain in effect unless you request a change at a subsequent open enrollment period and no changes may be effected between open enrollment periods.
